When the pandemic began to shut down businesses, it took a massive toll on my clients, and my own businesses.  My first move was to dive deep into any information available to me related to the CARES Act and other governmental attempts to offer help to the small business community.    There were so many hours of content as authorities on every level tried to make sense of the hastily put together legislation and I did my best to translate that information to my clients and others in the community.  (Translation:  I clocked time focusing on the dry slideshows so you didn’t have to.)  Through that process, I sat in on several virtual webinars featuring Steve Grove, Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner.

Since then, I have made the DEED Developments Blog frequent reading.  It’s been a wealth of information from topics ranging from understanding the complexities of opening amid Covid-19, understanding changes in Unemployment Insurance, to DEED sponsored training opportunities for workers.  It will also be the first place to get useful information about any new small business focused legislation that may come as the situation progresses.
